about

I wrote this to be a 1950's style ballad. I envisioned from the beginning my brother Kevin playing saxophone on it, to which he graciously obliged. Original CrossRoads drummer Joe Libordi came out to do the drums on this one. My friend Carl "Chip" Washburn had this song played at his wedding to Brenda as they danced. I also had one woman email me wanting the karaoke version! I worked up a quickie version for her and she was ecstatic.

lyrics

See you in dreams see you in my dreams
See you in dreams see you in my dreams

I knew from the start that this could never be
Held on to my heart before it ran away with me
I closed my eyes tight but still there I see

See you in dreams see you in my dreams
See you in dreams see you in my dreams

Cover my eyes to close out the morning sunrise
Keep my head down don’t look at the clear blue sky
Your love all around is it any surprise I

See you in dreams see you in my dreams
See you in dreams

When I awake the memorys will not fade
a fools mistake not to let you slip away

One look at my heart you’ll find two arrows deep
One for the love I promised I‘d always keep
But now in the dark each night that I fall asleep I

See you in dreams see you in my dreams
See you in dreams see you in my dreams

See you in Dreams

about

Brett Allen Gregory Livermore, California

I've always been compelled to write.

Early on it was journaling and poetry, but then that merged with my guitar addiction to become songwriting.

The process was always a bit manic, pressured, as if a large gorilla had stepped into my room, grabbed me by the lapels and said, "I will not let you sleep until you write this idea down." And so for years the gorilla and I danced madly thru the night.
