Wyoming 05:11
Wyoming (in the key of G) Well I've never been to Wyoming, I thought I heard her say. I would've gone a long time ago, But the road just got in the way Well I think I know just what you mean, I said to her in goodbye. And as I turned around to leave, She looked at me and smiled. She said strangers meet in the strangest ways, and old friends disappear like smoke. I said if you don't mind me saying so, You could use a little of both. Well it only takes one careless smile, A simple twist of phrase. You can plan all you want to, But life goes day by day. Chorus 1: And Wyoming seems so far... anyway She said let me show you this old tin cup, Now it ain't worth a dime. Bought it years ago at the local thrift shop, Its been with me all this time. On the side it said Wyoming, On the bottom, Made in China. Painted with Rolling Plains and Country Roads, and a Jackson Hole Buffalo. She said it wasn't much good for drinkin' from, And it would just kill all her flowers, You would hardly notice it a sittin there Collecting change on the Kitchen counter Now Stranger, you might find it hard to believe, That this clanky old souvenir, Is what started me dreaming 'bout a place, A thousand miles away from here. Chorus Two: And Wyoming seems so far, But I guess Home is where you are... anywhere. Bridge: Well I listened to her story And we drank scotch straight from that tin After that next morning I never heard from her again But she left that ole beat up cup With a note folded up inside It said you’ll know where to find me… anytime Chorus 3 But Wyoming seems so far, You know home is anywhere your heart Wants to be… (Fade out on G) Well I’ve never been to Wyoming…

Wanderlust 03:27
I been wonderin Lookin out my window again There’s nothing but moonshine Pourin down tonight I’m tryin to get some sleep but I just can’t close my eyes So I go out wandering Let the moonlight soak right through my skin A million stars above With so much space in between I put my sails to the wind And it’s a travellin junkies dream WanderLust is my blood When the moon is shinning down above Not one destination Where I need to go All I really need right now Is any thousand mile road This nighttime wandering takes me away from you But I’ll be back before the sun comes shinning through I been wonderin Lookin out my window again There’s nothing but moonshine Pourin down tonight I’m tryin to get some sleep but I just can’t close my eyes

With every trace I leave behind I ease my worried mind Don’t you know someday We’ve got to go our own way And if I leave you much too soon May you find this little tune Remind you of the days And all the little ways – that I love you The first time I held you I whispered in your ear “Don’t you know you’re doin fine, Little baby stop your cryin” Everyday is brand new And so much yet to do Find a little time each day That’s all it takes to say Hey, guess what? I love you Now I don’t know why In the middle of the night I worry I won’t be there for you, And I pray til daylight That I make it alright Just to see you smile every morning Little ones I once held Much too big for that now Barely time to crawl Now they’re running down the hall Climb every tree in the yard Take a ride in Daddy’s car Summer days and winter nights It all feels so right Hey Guess what? I Love You Hey Guess what? Hey Guess What? Hey Guess What? I Love You

Feels like Texas in California Feels like Texas out here tonight Something about the fallin’ stars In this misty April sky Got me wishing that things are alright I hope Texas is doing fine Somehow I guess I knew I couldn’t stay Home just ain’t quite home when it’s a thousand miles away And it’s a long ride now, either way From your doorstep to mine, from memories back till today If you think about me does it bring a smile? Is there a little song in your memory that takes you right back there with me? It’s been a long time now, gone with the wind But there’s a hint of Navy Ocean Blue, just a moments touch again, and it – CHORUS There’s a Canadian border on the edge of Texas And we used to make that run all the way from Abilene With a bottle of Everclear through a little town called Paducah And Amarillo’s somewhere in between There’s nothing you can do when you say goodbye That makes it any easier on the ones you leave behind And the more you love, the more you ache And every trip around the sun takes you furthur away But it feels like Texas in California Yeah it feels like Texas out here tonight For one second I would swear your touch was in the air I was wishing it would last all night I hope Texas is doing fine I hope Texas is doing fine

Used To Be 06:09
Take your picture off my wall, no I don’t think of you at all, Not a single night that I spent holding you. If I knew what was to come, I would take my heart and run, Only dream about the love that might have been. Cause dreams don’t cut you quite so deep, they only haunt you when you sleep, Maybe then I could forget about you everyday. They say it’s better loved and lost, but they don’t tell your heart the cost, For a love that might have been or love that used to be Used to be I’m your used to be So much wasted time. Foolish Hearts, oh the cost is mine. I guess I should have seen it coming form the start A pretty face don’t make a pretty heart. So long since you walked away, But I held on to the lies you gave Now you ain’t coming back no no you don’t think of me Why waste your time on what used to be. So what are you still doing here in my mind? And after all these years why can’t I say goodbye? ---------------------- ~Chorus~ ---------------------- Everyday, so much passing time. Miles away, I’ll be doing fine, But then my mind starts to sing every unfinished little rhyme I wish I could leave it all behind. So why can’t I get you out of my head? And what would I do if you were back by my side once again? ~Chorus~ A Love that Used to Be

Round Here 02:38
I been thinking too much about you Tired of thinking bout livin without you Gotta run Gotta fly away cause your Memory is Drowning its Draggin me down and I Don’t know where I am gonna stay I just Know I cant stay round here Round here Don’t wanna stay round here Theres a plane for the coast leavin here in the morning Fore the sun comes up Ill be 8 miles high Going down to the ocean tonight Cry my tears in the moonlight and Run till it fells right Lock this hurt in a sand castle tower Let the waves wash it all away Round here Too many tears around here Round here aint nothing but broken hearts Everywhere I look things are falling apart And im running away from my life tonight And I aint comin back till it feels all right Round Here My life is like a whirlwind Open up your windows let the storm in Take me in and turn me around Put me on your pedestal and then you knock me down Same old story same old season There must be lightning in this air I been breathin Round here Still rainin round here I been thinking too much about you

Gypsy Blood 04:34
I was born in 1968 Little town just off the interstate Guess we couldn’t stay too long The Highway sings a tempting song Look Out world Here I come Movin quick(fast) I can’t stay long Every town goes by so fast When all you need is a fresh tank of gas Gypsy Blood and a couple bucks Fast car and a little luck I never worry when things got tough Sing my songs or pack my stuff I thought that’s how it was gonna be I’d just ride this road for eternity Never let my feet touch the ground Never think about slowing down The Scenery changes slowly Sometimes you don’t realize The speed and the distance The Lula-bye in the lines The drone of the engines and the Feel of the road I never thought I could get so lost When I had nowhere to go… Took awhile to slow things down I drifted into this little town Not too far from where I began Kinda like startin over again Little place to call my own Little love that keeps me goin Two little boys I cant hold enough Look how fast they’ve been growing up There’s and old car out in my garage And I ain’t even turned the engine on Don’t wanna wake that cat asleep on my hood I’m gonna stay right where I should (we both know we got it good) My two feet will walk this ground Right here in my boys home town Gypsy Blood and the road be damned I found a place to make my stand The scenery changes slowly Sometimes you don’t recognize Everything you been looking for has been Right in front of your eyes The speed and the distance And the Lula-bye of the road Keeps you running faster and faster It’ll never bring you home Keeps you running on ever faster It’ll never be your home

about

Well, with Mystery and Blue Motel out of my system, I felt it was time to do something a little different. When I started recording my old original songs as 'The Wind' I usually only recorded one single acoustic guitar because that was the sound I was in love with. By 2002 I had discovered Breedlove Guitars and we were soon married. This album became an exploration of my new guitar, the Breedlove C25R and what I consider its amazing sound. And much like my early recordings, I decided to do an album of acoustic guitar & vocals, only this time, no band name to hide behind. This was the first album I ever put my name on.

When CrossRoads (Brett, Brian, Steve & Joe) broke up back in 1998, Steve and I carried on with Brian Covey on drums and then that evolved into a Beatles cover band with Covey, Jim Remy, Simon Tobias and Craig Crofford. We called ourselves The MoonDogs but we never played a gig, just kinda fizzled, but it was fun. So later on as I needed other musicians, I continued to call on Brian Covey and Jim Remy for help. Thats how Secret Agent Elvis Man came to be in 2003.

Later on in Jan 2005, Brian Covey came to me with his new band and asked if I could record them. I said YES! It was Tony on Guitar and Vocals, Julian on Bass, Brian Covey on Lead Guitar and Vocals and Brian's brother Mikey on Drums. It turned out so good and I was amazed at how fantastically good Brian was on guitar. Remember I only knew him as our drummer. The four songs I recorded and mixed for them in 2005 are included at the end here for posterity's sake. I hope no one minds me including it here but it was such an amazing group, I was sad to see them part ways but so it goes, eh?

about

Brett Allen Gregory Livermore, California

I've always been compelled to write.

Early on it was journaling and poetry, but then that merged with my guitar addiction to become songwriting.

The process was always a bit manic, pressured, as if a large gorilla had stepped into my room, grabbed me by the lapels and said, "I will not let you sleep until you write this idea down." And so for years the gorilla and I danced madly thru the night.
