This was the last album I made before I met Brian B. In fact I gave Brian a copy of this on tape back in the fall of 1996 when we met. Brian had a huge effect on my songwriting style and I can really hear the changes in the songs I began to write after this album.

Right before I met Brian I wrote the song Two Chairs which was about wanting someone to fill the empty chair across from me in my studio. I was tired of just being a soloist at the coffee houses and with my songwriting; I wanted a musical partner.

This album was mainly songs from 1996 and were some of my most crafted and focused songs to date. I had been making a concerted effort to put more of an effort into my lyrics, and this album is where I start to see that come together.

The Wind was the name I used for my first songwriting attempts. I was too shy to use my own name and it was much easier to hide behind the shield of a band name. I began writing songs around 1985 or 1986 (age 16-17) and arranged the songs into albums as I completed enough songs. I did this up until about 1996 and made a total of 7 albums and almost 90 songs.
